2023 FLSC Kid’s Fishing Derby to be held on Saturday July 1, 2023 with sign up starting at 8:30 am The derby is free and it's open to residents and their families. Registration is at 8:30am and fishing starts at 9:00am. Prizes and lunch (hot dogs, brats, chips, water/soda, etc.) after.
Members, Unfortunately because of the risk of fire due to the dry conditions, we are not going to be able to hold our fireworks display on July 4th. The plan is to reschedule the fireworks for later this summer once the local burn ban has been lifted, but that date has not been set yet. I will keep you posted with updates as I get them. For the same reason, all at-home fireworks are also banned until further notice.
Reminder, the 1st Annual Fyre Lake Car Show will be held on Saturday September 2nd located at the Swimmers Beach. A food truck will be available that will sell pulled pork, brisket, pulled pork mac N cheese, turkey legs, pulled pork fries, and drinks. Come enjoy the day looking at great cars overlooking the lake, delicious food, and all within the company of your Fyre Lake community friends and family. And don't forget, all donations and proceeds go to a great charity helping kids!

Traveling Hors d'oeuvres Party Please see the following message from Kate Lilley: "I'm excited to announce a new event that will be replacing the Traveling Hor D'oeuvres party this year. Dig your favorite Hawaiian shirt out of your closet and call the babysitter because in lieu of the THP, we will be hosting an end of summer Lakeside Luau at Swimmers Beach on September 9 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. It has been difficult to get people to volunteer to be a host house for the THP in the past, so our hope is that this eliminates any pressure to host and gives everyone a chance to come together for drinks, hors d'oeuvres, games, and music to bid the summer farewell. Don't forget that there will be a Lakeside Luau this Saturday down at Swimmer's Beach from 6pm to 9pm! VA Memorial: The dedication ceremony for the Sherrard Area Veteran's Memorial (located in Sherrard across from the Post Office) is planned for Sunday, September 10th at 2:00pm. There will also be a band playing from 1:00 to 2:00 if anyone wants to come early. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 and following the dedication, the band will again play until 5:00. They plan to have water, soft drinks, and food available at the park. Everyone is invited to attend and urged to bring lawn chairs!! The fall large item pickup will be on Tuesday, October 17th. On this day, there is no additional charge for extra bagged garbage or large items. They will not accept electronics, old tires, paint, appliances, or construction debris.
The Easter Egg Hunt will be this Saturday, March 23rd from 12:00 to 1:30 at Covered Bridge Park. If you plan on attending, please RSVP by text to Karla Engleking at 309-738-4780 by Thursday. Please include the number of kids and their ages. This event is open to all Fyre Lake members and their families.
The fireworks will be held on Thursday, July 4th and will start at 9:30pm. There will also be a lemonade truck operated by The Main Squeeze Lemonade Company set up down at the boat launch that day!
The Kid's Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, July 6th at swimmer's beach. Registration starts at 8:30am and fishing will be from 9-11am with food and prizes to follow. The Kid's Fishing Derby is a fun, free event put on by the Fyre Lake Sportsman's Club and is open to all members and their families. The age groups are 1-7 years, 8-12 years, and 13-18 years.
